The Clean Up

The Curaçao Clean Up was taken place on Saturday September 21st. On this day we activated all citizens to go out and help us clean our island, but also create awareness. When driving around the island you will see trash on the sides of the road, at the beaches and even in the sea. Curaçao is home to more than 145 thousand people, and each of us produces about 4.5 pounds of trash on a daily basis. As citizens we are all responsible to keep Curaçao clean.

We participated with colaboration of Totto Rescue Team and Venmundo Curaçao group

Playa Kanoa beach

Keeping Curaçao clean is in the interest of the whole island, the environment and also our visitors. By combining the knowledge and expertise of all participating partners, we participated at Playa Kanoa clean up spot inside of the Curaçao Clean Up, was a success with the help of many volunteers this Saturday 21 September, past!

002 - Open and safety talk

Set Up

When we arrived early (7:30 am) to set up, we received a talk about how collect the trash, was instructing about we encounter any hazardous items, such as sharp objects or dead, entangled or injured animals. Remind them of any local safety hazards, such as power lines or poison ivy.

The groups split over the area, we found a huge quantity of old tires around the place, some group take care of join at one spot all tires, others recollect small objects.

All activity was between 8:00 am until noon, we was assisting by trucks and diggers to help and dispose all garbage recolleted.

Finally

023 - Close the event at Zanzibar Beach

After a great job for all, was a clousure at Zamzibar Beach to said thanks to all volunteers.
